Spain Starting Eleven

Spain’s manager, Lopetegui, has come forward with all the players he intends to take to the FIFA World Cup 2018, being hosted in Russia. Among them are some pretty good players, however Spain has yet to tell us who will be taking part in their first match against Portugal on 15th June.

All we can do at this point is speculate as we imagine the 11 first match players will be announced almost a day before the match itself, certainly when the tournament itself begins. In any case, we can ascertain who will be there by looking carefully at each player’s past performance on the pitch.

Here is who we think will represent Spain against Portugal:

  • Isco
  • Morata
  • Asensio
  • Silva
  • Busquets
  • Thiago
  • Alba
  • Ramos
  • De Gea
  • Piqué
  • Carvajal

We think there are numerous potential stars among these numbers, including Asensio and De Gea who are likely to be the players to watch out for while they play off against Portugal. It seems Lopetegui has chosen the right people to come with him to Russia.

However, this is still speculation, as likely as it is this will be the line-up. On the other hand, we could be completely wrong. We can only wait and see.
