Keylor Navas is definitely a player to keep a close eye; the Real Madrid goalkeeper will be travelling to Russia with the Costa Rican international team, where he’s sure to be instrumental in their success. Read on to learn more about the Keylor Navas World Cup odds, including his team’s chances of advancing and winning the competition, and his chances of bagging a special prize too.

Who Is Keylor Navas?

As we’ve just mentioned, Keylor Navas is a Costa Rican goalkeeper, who plays for Real Madrid at league level. After starting out at Deportivo Saprissa, Navas moved to Spain in 2011, playing for Albacete and then Levante in La Liga. He joined Real Madrid in 2014 for €10 million, and has since helped win one league title and two Champions League titles.

Keylor Navas also has an almost perfect international record. He has made 76 appearances for Costa Rica since his debut in 2008, and has represented his country at two CONCACAF Gold Cups and the 2014 Fifa World Cup too. In fact, his impressive performance in the last World Cup is often regarded as one of the main reasons the team were able to reach the quarter finals.

This combination of talent and experience definitely makes Keylor Navas a formidable force in this year’s event, and we’re sure that any strikers who are up against him will be getting worried. However, this also puts quite a lot of pressure on the 31 year old goalkeeper and that in turn could affect not only his World Cup performance but his World Cup odds too.

Costa Rica World Cup Odds 2018

Before we explore all of the Keylor Navas odds World Cup options, we need to first examine how Costa Rica as a team will perform in the competition.

Costa Rica will start of the World Cup in Group E, which is shaping up to be an unpredictable group. In addition to Costa Rica, the group also includes Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia. Whilst Brazil are the favourites to advance from the group, and it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t, both Switzerland and Serbia also looked to be on excellent form in the qualifying stages.

This definitely makes Costa Rica’s chances of advancing much more difficult, but there’s no reason why they couldn’t perform as well as they did in the last competition, especially with captain Bryan Ruiz in the squad. Navas’ ability to keep a clean sheet could be crucial to the countries success however, which means there’s certainly some value in backing Keylor Navas this World Cup.

Keylor Navas Best Goalkeeper Odds World Cup

Although as a goalkeeper, the Keylor Navas top scorer odds World Cup are naturally non-existent, the Costa Rican player could still bag a prize in the 2018 competition. Namely, the Golden Glove award which goes to the best goalkeeper of the competition.

Looking at Navas’ prize record so far, it seems very likely that he could walk away a winner. Navas has picked up several accolades in the past, including the CONCACAF Goalkeeper of the Year award in both 2016 and 2017 and the CONCACAF Player of the Year award in both 2014 and 2017 too.

That being said, this year Navas will face stiff competition as the tournament is flush with excellent goalkeepers. Players such as Brazil’s Ederson Moraes, Germany’s Marc Andre Ter Stegen and Spain’s David De Gea will all be giving Keylor Navas a run for his money, yet we would still argue that there’s definite value in backing Navas for the Golden Glove winner, especially if Costa Rica manage to progress out of the group stages.
