Japan Squad

With the FIFA World Cup 2018 just over the horizon, it’s the time when all the teams reveal who they are taking to the host nation with them. Many have already revealed their preliminary squads and Japan is one of those nations.

Now, we mean no disrespect, but Japan aren’t exactly known for their football prowess. It may well be that they have some decent players but they have never been any prolific winners in many tournaments. Hopefully, this time, things will be different.

As you will see in a moment, there is an interesting line up for Japan who have chosen their best players to represent them in the tournament:

  • Goalkeepers: Kawashima, Higashiguchi, Nakamura
  • Defenders: Nagatomo, Makino, Endo, Yoshida, Sakai, Sakai, Shoji, Ueda
  • Midfielders: Hasebe, Aoyama, Honda, Inui, Kagawa, Yamaguchi, Haraguchi, Usami, Shibasaki, Oshima, Misao, Ideguchi
  • Forwards: Okazaki, Osako, Muto, Asano

The World Cup 2018 will be an interesting mix of awesome players and Japan will be no exception. We hope the manager, Akira Nishino, has chosen wisely in whom he is bringing to the table. It’s an interesting bunch and we cannot wait to see how this will all play out.
