Colombia squad consists of more than two dozens of players, including both returning and debuting footballers. We’ll tell more about them in a second.
First of all, Colombia had a pretty amazing tournament in Brazil four years ago, but things aren’t looking as promising as they were before to repeat the country’s record when it comes to this FIFA tournament.
Colombia Squad Football — World Cup 2018
James Rodriguez is, of course, the most popular player who has played wonderfully in 2014. He was the most active attacker in the team this year too, at least in the qualifiers.
Other notable players in the squad include:
- Radamel Falcao
- Carlos Bacca
- Giovanni Moreno
- Carlos Sánchez
- Yerry Mina
- David Ospina
- Duvan Zapata
- Edwin Cardona
Being in the top 16 football teams in the world, it would make sense if Colombia advanced to the round of 16 at the very least. Though it’s difficult to say how well they will do, it’s clear that the squad is strong enough to perform competitively.
They also have José Pékerman from Argentina as their coach, which increases their chances. This man has led Argentina to the World Cup once and won the World Cup trophy three times while coaching Argentina U20 team.
With Pékerman and skilled players in the field, Colombia has decent chances to repeat their success of 2014, even though the team wasn’t performing flawlessly lately.
